Americares India Foundation (AIF) is FCRA registered, health-focused relief and development organization, operating from Mumbai, since 2006. The 150+ strong team strives to save lives and improve health for people affected by urban poverty or disaster, with life-changing health programs, medicines, medical supplies, and emergency aid. Americares plays the role of a catalyst with local and state governments to improve access to healthcare in partnership with corporate CSR and foundations.
Since inception, the team has responded to more than fifty major emergencies across India providing relief, supplies and health center recovery. Our urban health model aims to accelerate universal access to healthcare for the urban slum dwellers at 130 sites in Mumbai. Working with eight state governments we are strengthening Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centre program of MoH. We are driving antimicrobial stewardship for human health by establishing a model program at eleven mid-size hospital sites across seven states. Our community-based programs address the growing challenge of non-communicable diseases among the urban slum dwellers and transforming children as health ambassadors of society.

Summary
The main purpose of this post is to lead Monitoring and Evaluation activities conducted under grant for large scale community intervention projects in Bengaluru. The MEL Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and refinement of monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems to track the performance and impact of project. The role ensures that data is collected accurately, analyzed meaningfully, and used effectively for strategic decision-making, adaptive management, and continuous program improvement. The MEL Manager provides technical leadership in developing M&E frameworks, indicators, tools, and reporting processes aligned with organization and donor requirements, while fostering a culture of data use and learning within the state team and implementing partners.
Job Description of the Position
Main areas of responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Establishing Monitoring and Evaluation system for all programs implemented by the organization.
- Lead the development of program M&E frameworks, M&E plan, data recording tools protocols and procedures for new and existing programs.
- Plan and execute various research projects to provide inputs for program implementation strategy and to showcase program impact. (Assessments, Baselines, endline, satisfaction surveys etc.)
- Ensure timely submission of data requirement, narrative summary for donor reporting.
- Advanced analyses of data provide information on achievements against targets, data trends etc. which will help in decision making for programs.
- Conduct data quality assessments and ensure data integrity and timely reporting.
- Assist in proposal writing for new grants by providing relevant data and information from program and secondary research.
- Generate evidence-based reports and success stories for internal and external dissemination
Required Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in M&E for health or development projects, preferably at the state or national level.
- Experience of working with not-for-profit organisation working in Public Health domain will be a plus.
Desirable
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Competency in using statistical and data software (SPSS, Tableau, CommCare)
- Fluent in English, Hindi
- Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis, data visualization, and reporting. Knowledge and experience of research methods and principles
- Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills is a must
- Attention to details and ability to multi-task will be an asset
- Confidentiality and integrity
- Strong organisational skills including proven ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- IT skills including a self-sufficiency using a range of software packages.
