Senior Lead, Alternate Channel

Establishing Common Service Centre and Post Offices as a new initiative as the key focus area at our organisation and requires a proactive and dynamic approach. The candidate should have in-depth subject matter knowledge, expertise, and experience. Timely and high-quality delivery of goals would be essential and will be a key performance measurement criterion. The senior lead, alternate channel, will be responsible for adapting our organisation program frameworks to the local context, managing implementation teams, ensuring timely and high-quality program delivery, maintaining compliance with organisational standards, and contributing to VisionSpring’s long-term growth and impact in the region. In this pivotal role, s/he will lead the delivery of one of VisionSpring’s newest service models — bringing clear vision closer to communities with limited access to affordable eye care. Working at the intersection of innovation, impact, and community engagement, you will help shape the future of vision access in the country. S/he serves as a key team member within the VAP team and will be based in India out of Delhi NCR (Noida). This is a 1-year contractual role, with potential for extension based on performance.

What You’ll Do
Program Management
- Oversee all program activities, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery and achievement of targets.
- Monitor progress against key performance indicators (KPIs), proactively troubleshoot challenges, and adjust strategies to optimise results.
- Ensure full compliance with organisational policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.
- Integrate data analytics and learning into program management to drive informed decisionmaking and continuous improvement.
Strategic Alignment
- Develop actionable workplans and budgets aligned with organisational objectives.
- Develop and execute organisation-level strategies.
- Lead program design processes, including conducting needs assessments, developing theories of change, and establishing impact measurement frameworks.
- Identify and escalate local risks and opportunities to the Program Managers for timely strategic adjustments.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Supervise and support Program Implementation Leads, promoting a high-performance culture.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and accountability across teams.
- Ensure all staff and partners are trained in programming methodologies, standards, and organisational values.
- Serve as a secondary liaison to external stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, and other partners, after global leadership engagement.
- Collaborate with policy teams to support advocacy efforts and influence local policies aligned with organisational priorities.
Compliance & Operational/Financial Oversight
- Ensure program activities comply with donor expectations, organisational standards, and legal requirements.
- Contribute accurate data and analysis to organisational and donor reports, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Manage and monitor program budgets to ensure efficient use of resources and financial stewardship.
- Support business development and fundraising efforts by contributing to proposal development and donor reporting.
What’s Required
- Master’s degree/MBA in marketing, partnerships development, management, and/or related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in program management, preferably in healthcare/development sector.
- Proven track record in managing multi-stakeholder programs.
- Experience with donor-funded projects and grant compliance will be an added advantage.
- Ability to align high-level vision with on-the-ground execution.
- Strong negotiation and representation skills with diverse partners.
- Comfortable working in complex, changing environments.
- Experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders in local languages.
- Must meet the highest standards of ethics and personal integrity.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, within India.
