Position Role
The Specialist, Programs will be accountable for implementing large programs and projects of ChildFund India in the assigned state/s through direct initiatives, in partnership with local partners and communities. Specialist, Programs will be responsible for ensuring high quality program implementation. program monitoring, evaluation, and timely reporting as per requirements. Specialist, Programs will also be responsible for mobilising resources (financial and technical) to increase program reach and impact. Prior work experience in Delhi and Rajasthan.
 
Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with ChildFund’s Safeguarding Policy.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for efficient and effective program delivery of all programs (irrespective of funding sources) in the assigned states
  • Support, guide, monitor and build capacity of local implementation partners/field level teams/communities. 
  • Explore new solutions and innovations for higher programs impact (in discussion with Technical leads and partners)
  • Be responsible for timely preparation and submission of annual plans and budgets of all programs in the state/s in coordination with field/project team.
  • Promote cross learning and sharing, thereby building micro-macro linkages to continuously enhance programme quality and impact
  • Lead on state and national level funding opportunities, specially government and local CSR, produce content and data for donor acquisition and reporting
  • Conduct risk assessments of programs, propose actions and incorporate risk mitigation strategies in planning.
  • Undertake program monitoring and supportive supervision visits frequently to Delhi and Rajasthan.
External relations / Networking
  • Strengthen organization’s profile in the state/s by collaborating with like-minded civil society organizations, government agencies, donors, individual activists, academics, and intellectuals. 
  • Be responsible for raising resources and donor base for sustained strategic program interventions in the state/s
  • Develop ideas for campaigns and reach out to policy makers /government agencies for appropriate influencing and collaborations at the state level
  • Represent program operations internally and externally as per organizational requirements.
Strategic leadership and fundraising initiatives
  • Be responsible for implementation of the fundraising strategy in Delhi
  • Responsible for delivering quarterly targets of mobilizing resources from various channels –institutions and government, HNIs, corporates, individuals and digital platforms.
  • Ensure alignment of fundraising opportunities with the CSP and other relevant policies of ChildFund India.
  • Conceptualize innovative ideas for raising awareness for garnering support and resources from public at large.
  • Develop and implement strategies and campaigns to enhance ChildFund India’s reach on digital platforms to raise resources through organizational branding, program models and success stories.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and processes in selection of relevant agencies and supporters for various fundraising initiative.
Communication, donor servicing and reporting
  • Develop innovative strategies, plans and systems for improved donor journey and donor retention.
  • Lead designing and execution of relevant communication and branding strategies to support fund raising initiatives.
  • Work with the communications team in planning and implementing campaigns for fundraising and to enhance the impact and outreach of ChildFund’s work with children.
  • Guide communication team on developing relevant content for ChildFund India website to make it fundraising oriented in line with organization’s branding guidelines.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of organizational digital channels – website, email and social media accounts – for supporter engagement and to raise resource.
  • Responsible for high quality donor servicing and regular communications, such as mailers and newsletter, with individual supporters, corporates and institutions.
Team management
  • Be responsible for overseeing team/s at the state level, fostering culture of high performance and capacity development of team/s. 
  • Work closely with the Child Development team to strengthen program integration.
  • Ensure timely completion and delivery of internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager/Supervisor. 
 
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate/Post-graduate in Social Work / Social Sciences/ Management/ other relevant discipline. 
  • Experience: At least 5- 7 years of development experience with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in managing large programs and partnership portfolio at the state level.
  • Skills and Abilities: Project Management skills; Team management skills, strong experience in stakeholder management and donor coordination; Proven ability to cultivate and steward relationships with partners and donors; Strong communication skills (both verbal and written); Adept in using computers, particularly in using Microsoft Office suite applications; Organized, team player, self-starter and results-oriented individual; Gender sensitive with strong conviction and skills for the empowerment of excluded and disadvantaged children.
  • Knowledge: Sound knowledge and experience on at least one theme – health, education, livelihood, child protection, and Disaster Risk Reduction / Climate Change; Knowledge of standards and effective practices across multiple disciplines for children and to set strategic direction; Demonstrated experience in capacity building of staff and partners, including training, mentoring, and technical leadership; Demonstrated success in the management and development of multi-location, multidisciplinary teams.
