Professional Experience: |
One of my proudest achievements was leading the Punjab School Education project at GDi Partners, where I led a team of 2 consultants and helped the department conduct a state wide parent teacher meeting with a footfall of 19 lakh parents, helped them with improving board exam results (~75% to 93%) and also run campaigns helping their enrolment drive. We also achieved 100% delivery of textbooks to all schools on time. In all these work streams we helped the department take data backed decisions which improved the quality of the decisions that was taken. This experience highlighted my ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage data for effective decision-making, and achieve tangible results.
Moreover, I am well-versed in utilizing advanced data analytics tools like Tableau and PowerBI to create actionable insights and also proficient in excel and powerpoint. I am confident that my expertise, combined with my dedication to social impact, makes me a strong candidate for social impact consulting.
My interest and passion for the sector started from my early childhood seeing my parents who both worked in government schools. Always wanted to work for a social cause especially in the school education sector, but I preferred equipping myself with corporate experience before contributing for a social cause. So after my engineering from NIT Trichy and MBA from IIM Calcutta worked for consulting and product management roles in BCG, IPAC and Saint Gobain respectively.
During my short 3 month sting in BCG, I closely worked with the procurement team in a leading domestic appliances firm in Chennai. I was involved in devising cost reduction strategies for procurement of finished goods. I suggested strategy using various levers such as Make vs Buy, Benchmarking material prices with industry standards, Better negotiation with existing vendors and proposed a saving of ~ Rs 15 Crores, and accrued Rs 2 Cr in the 3 month stint.
During my recent 1-year stint in IPAC, I closely worked with various stakeholders such as Media, Public Relations, Political Intelligence teams of IPAC & also with the party leadership team. In this stint, I was involved in storing, analysing and processing of data brought in by 200 field team members on a daily basis. I was leading the team which developed and published live reports in the form of a dashboard (as mobile application) to the leadership team.
During my 3-year stint in Saint-Gobain, I worked closely with the Customer service, Warehouse, Logistics and Dispatch team, identifying gaps in their process and opportunity for automation. Based on the hands-on experience with those teams, I initiated and owned multiple projects/products to automate the process of customer order till dispatch, reducing the customer service time by 50%, which also includes the customer ordering portal (both web and mobile application). Once implemented in one plant in India, we made it as a SaaS product & implemented the same in other plants across the country.
