Professional Experience:

I have over a decade's worth of experience in the mental health sector working with a diverse set of stakeholders including donor organizations, various state governments, academic institutions and students. In addition to raising funds for The Banyan and BALM, I also play a role in both organisations as member of the senior leadership team towards day-to-day management and operations. This includes budgeting, financial and human resource management, organisational strategy and vision plans. I also have half a decade's experience in project management running a shelter for homeless men with mental health issues in collaboration with the Greater Chennai Corporation, and now an Emergency Care and Recovery Centre for Homeless Persons with Mental Health Issues in Bangalore. This work also keeps me closely engaged with various state departments in an advocacy role. Through my field-based experience and engagement with an academic institution like BALM, I have also been involved in research and teaching. I have published 2 papers in peer reviewed journals and 3 grey literature articles. I have also organised 3 international conferences and 10 national conferences during my tenure at BALM. I am extremely interested in studying the phenomenon of homelessness, destitution and support networks using a practical philosophy lens. I am also very interested in universal history and philosophy and would like to engage in more theoretical research in the future.
