Commanded two hospitals providing comprehensive medical care having a bed strength of 550 and 650 beds respectively. Held various appointments like Station Health Officer, Asst Director Health, Deputy Director Medical Services, Director Medical Services and Professor of Community Health in Army Medical Corps. Done extensive research work on health issues affecting troops and awarded prestigious Air Marshal Ajith Nath Gurshanti Devi Award. Presented research papers in Armed Forces Medical Research Confeence, National conferences, Seminars and Workshops and also in International Military Medicine Conference at Washington. In appreciation of professional excellence and distinguished service awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation twice in 1997 and 2000 and also General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command Commendation in 2012.

Life Member of Indian Society of Communicable Diseases, Life Member of Indian Public Health Association, Life Member of Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine, Fellow of Indian Society for Malaria and other Communicable Diseases. Won appreciation from the Defence Minister during the National Seminar on Enhancing Combat potential through indigenisation and modernisation held at Delhi in May 2006. Research in early diagnosis of Stress fracture amongst Cadets using a simple tuning fork which helped reducing relegation amongst cadets of Indian Military Academy was international acclaimed and presented in International Military Medicine Conference held at Washingtonin Sep 2004. A stretcher innovated by me helped to provide critical life support to casualties enroute evacuation and saved many lives during Srinagar earth quake. Research in prevention of Malaria in Counter Insurgency Operations using Deltamethrin impregnated uniform saved many lives and awarded Air Marshal Ajith Nath Gurshanti Devi Award.
