Professional Experience:
Completing Post Masters in Natural Resources Management from the Indian Institute of Forest Management, I have been working continuously for 15 years with social and environmental justice as my core values.

The first couple of years were dedicated at the grassroots, working in the tribal Tehsil of Bagli (in Dewas District, Madhya Pradesh) which lies in Narmada Valley. This experience helped me to understand the life of the poorest of the poor in India and sensitized me to the local concerns, appreciate their needs, fathom the development challenges, etc. It re-emphasized in me the belief for continuous and dedicated focus on targeted and tailor-made interventions towards natural resources management in rural India.

The next eight-and-a-half years saw my active involvement at policy advocacy at national, international and multilateral platforms. This along with the initial experience helped me weave the realities of the ground into advocacy and policy making at multifarious levels.

Currently I am working with IndoGerman bilateral cooperation and for the last four-and-a-half years focused on biodiversity conservation. The fulcrum of my work, however, remained continued ensuring of community participation and underlining the importance of traditional knowledge and practices in natural resources management, a critical factor in achieving most of the sustainable development goals in general and the SDGs related to natural resources management in particular.

My work over the past 15 years spans the breadth of the experience spectrum and therefore I fit well to a job which needs deep understanding of the issues at hand with respect to natural resources management.
