Professional Experience:
I have worked, earlier as a clinician and later as a public health consultant mainly in rural India and Nepal. I bring with me over 25 years of cumulative experience and technical skills in the field of maternal and child health.

Along the way I have trained health care workers at all levels and developed curricula, training modules and guidelines for a wide range of health care providers, adolescents and project staff and also involved in project development, monitoring and evaluation for various national and inter-national agencies. This has been an excellent opportunity for me to translate my clinical skills gained over the years into the broader concepts of providing public health care. I have highlighted a few of these below:
Most recent job involves conducting capacity building and quality assurance (CBQA) tasks in Family Planning, Reproductive Health through market – based approaches (Market Based Partnership in Health – MBPH) to private providers. I was also involved in reviewing and documenting of all the CBQA material during the tenure of the MBPH project.
Assignment with WHO SEARO, for reviewing and documenting the implementation of Maternal Death Reviews in India, has helped to gain valuable insights, not only on the functioning and interacting with international inter-governmental agencies but also on the status of maternal deaths and progress towards attaining MDG 5 in India. Had the privilege to interact with most of the state nodal officers and various other dignitaries.
Evaluation of Reproductive and Child Health Projects spread across 5 states of North India for Emmanuel Hospital Association as a part of their donor commitment (2009 – 2011). Also developed training modules for nurses and medical practitioners in RCH, STI/RTI and HIV. Made and effort to link the programs with the Public health system for sustainability.
My earlier clinical experience include managing routine, preventive and emergency obstetrics and performance of over thousand two hundred surgeries (LSCS, hysterectomies, laparotomies and other gynecological procedures). This experience will help me to provide technical assistance to clients and partners in Reproductive and Maternal and Newborn health.
Experience with Plan International and Population Foundation of India helped me to develop my skills in project planning, develop tools for evaluation and manage a large consortium of NGOs and adolescents.
