Professional Experience:
I am an experienced development organization worker, specializing in finance and administrative departments of aid organizations. I am employed with Catholic Relief Services an international aid organization working in over 95 countries of the world and have been with CRS since the last 15 years. Prior to CRS I have worked with the Red Cross and World Vision International in similar capacities.
I am currently working as a Finance Coordinator for partnerships with CRS in the India program. As part of my current assignment I am responsible for carrying out due diligence assessment for CRS’ India partners and periodic reviews of project spends by the implementing partners. I am also responsible for providing information to country management on cash flows, project spends and budget variance/analysis. Prior to my current assignment I have successfully undertaken and overseen financial and administrative functions which included but was not limited to day to day accounting for organizational/project spending, payroll management, in country taxation, cash management, reporting, procurement, IT management, general office upkeep and safety/security. Till some years back I have performed commodity accounting and reporting for CRS’ USAID supported Title II programs in India.
In addition to the above-mentioned tasks I have also performed numerous project reviews for implementing partners which ensured grant and legal compliance in implementing organizations. I have also been lead for a number of internal and external audits for the organization. Recently I have also performed fraud investigations in countries outside India (in the SE Asia regions). On the supervisory teams I have led small teams of finance and administrative staff during my tenure with CRS consisting of 4-5 team members. I am adept at Microsoft Office and especially working with Excel – I love to work with large amounts of data and am fascinated how data can bring about information and eventually better decisions.
On the personal level, I am like working with small teams and believe in the potential of each individual to contribute to end results. With a openness to learning and inherent desire to bring betterment, I welcome challenges at work and address problems head on. I love traveling and look upon travel as an excellent opportunity to develop a person’s character.
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce with specialization in Advanced Accountancy and Statistics.
