As deputy news editor, I made the main Odisha city pages, checked headlines and intros for the other city pages, handled Page 1 local stories and coordinated with both the desk in Bhubaneswar as well as the bureau. On lean days, I also looked after the Guwahati, Ranchi and Patna editions of The Times of India along with my regular responsibilities. Wrote stories as well.

Edited news and feature stories and managed my team to produce a satellite edition of The Telegraph for Odisha. Launched the Odisha edition and worked very hard to train a new team, co-ordinate with the Odisha bureau and produce an edition that quickly became quite popular in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack besides western Odisha.
