Professional Experience: |
I worked in TISS’s Andaman & Nicobar Islands Livelihood Project with a focus on research, documentation and community mobilization for a year. My interest to work on tribal issues continued with my work with ECONET, Pune. I joined the Law and Advocacy division as Project In-charge in 2011 where I worked on 2 domains – one was on adivasi and law interface with special emphasis on TFRA and PESA – dissemination as well implementation; and the second one being the NT-DNT domain where I contributed in terms collating and analyzing field data regarding livelihoods of Nomadic and De-notified tribes across 7 Districts of Maharashtra which culminated in a research document, one of the few contemporary research documents on this subject.
My inclination to work with people for a more equitable society led me to studying for Civil Services Exams with the intention of working in the Government which offers a broader field of work with more resources at hand. The intensive study process has ensured a broader understanding of Indian polity, economy and society while also promoting a more pragmatic perspective.
Currently I am working with All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG), Pune since December 2015. I am working here in the capacity of a Research and Documentation Consultant in the Pune office with IC EQUI-T.
