Professional Experience: |
Established in 1996 by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) the Mumbai Metropolitan Environment- Improvement Society (MMR-EIS) works to promote importance of environment in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) through studies, surveys, capacity building programmes, research and other related activities. The following are my roles and responsibilities in brief:
1. I have been involved in evaluating & monitoring the projects supported by MMR – EIS in the field of environment which range from research and innovation to awareness generation.
2. Initiating projects in the rural areas of Maharashtra on health and hygiene
3. NODAL OFFICER, Developing a ‘Regional Environmental Information System’ for the Metropolitan Region of Mumbai.
4. NODAL OFFICER, Awareness and Capacity Building
5. Part of the core group of MMRDA involved in the review of the Environment Status Report (ESR) of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) drafted by TERI, the inputs for which would be incorporated in the Regional Plan of MMR.
6. Prepared the redevelopment and conservation plan of 37 acre Maharashtra Nature Park (MNP) in Mumbai.
Before joining MMR-EIS, I was working in the Water Unit of Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi as a Senior Research Associate.

Education: |
1) Graduation: Bachelors in Architecture (2008)
2) Post Graduation: Environmental Planning from Centre for Environment Planning and Technology University(CEPT),Ahmedabad, Gujarat in 2010.
Some of the topics which were a part of the curriculum were: Climate Change, drafting of Regional Environmental Management Plan (REMP), City Sanitation Plans (CSP) and Rural Area Development Plans. Environment Modelling software such as Surfer along with GIS tool kits had also been taught.
3) PG Diploma: Environmental Law from IGNOU in 2012. The course gave an in depth insight into the current laws, policies and issues being practiced for the protection of the environment.
4) United Nations Summer Course in Sustainable Human Development at Budapest, Hungary (2012). The course gave an insight into the policies being practiced in the European countries in the sector of environment protection, sustainable development and climate change.
