Professional Experience: |
I have dedicated the last 6 years of my life to learning how to be a good researcher, and as a result, have worked on a wide variety of social science research projects.
I have interned for several research companies over the last several years, with most of my experience being in the non-profit sector. While at UCLA, I worked as a student research consultant for the San Fernando Valley Refugee Center (LA) - I was part of a team working to amend the organization's Theory of Change model through multiple in-depth interviews.
My professional experiences have provided me with important skills such as writing & conveying important information, collecting and analyzing data (both qualitative and quantitative), presenting research findings to various audiences using visualizations, and project and time management. I am proficient in both Microsoft Office Suite (including PowerPoint presentations) and Google Suite, and also familiar with quantitative analysis software such as SPSS and R.

My background is in psychology. I have a B.A. degree in psychology, as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma majoring in psychology, both from FLAME University, Pune - one of the leading liberal arts universities in India. I took courses in various areas of psychology, including developmental, industrial, cognitive, abnormal, social and applied psychology. I also took various courses in advanced research methods in psychology (quantitative and qualitative). My coursework included exams, immersive assignments and original research products involving desk-based literature reviews to primary data collection. My undergraduate CGPA was 7.46/10.00.
During my PG-Diploma program, I wrote a dissertation titled 'Melting Glaciers and Mental Blocks: Exploring the Psychological Barriers to Climate Change Action' under the supervision of Dr. Sairaj Patki. The aim of my project was to uncover the factors that stop Indians (who have the means) from engaging in pro-climate behaviors. I designed my own survey and collected primary data using an online survey. My project received a high grade (A+) and high acclaim from my professors and supervisors. My PG-Diploma CGPA was 7.95/10.00.
I then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Social Science at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), which consistently ranks among the top 20 universities in the world. I took courses including qualitative and quantitative social science research methodology, community-based research and social science research methodology. I also took electives in the field of trauma studies. My capstone project explored the potential traumatic implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, and discussed the evolving clinical definition of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) in the context of the pandemic. CGPA awarded was 3.92/4.00.

I received a merit scholarship to attend UCLA's Master of Social Science program.
Additionally, during my undergraduate studies at FLAME University, my research team was awarded a grant of Rs. 50000 towards presentation of research findings in a conference for securing 1st place in research exhibition.
