Being a member of IA&AS, I was mainly engaged in auditing of different Government departments and Public Sector Enterprises in India. My special area of interest is improving the Governance and Internal Control Systems in Local Bodies- Municipalities/Municipal Corporations and Panchayati Raj Institutions. I am very well conversant with Rules and Regulations as applicable in Government departments and Autonomous Bodies. Having engaged in auditing of Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) of various sizes and working in different sectors of economy in the country, I have firm grip over the Accounting Standards as prevailing in India as well as working environments in public sector undertakings. It also helped me in developing the insight about the challenges and the odds faced by them. Due to my audit experience in different organizations under United Nations, I have firm grip over Accounting Standards like IPSAS and IFRS. This international exposure helped me to learn the best International Practices in many fields and their differences with the practices followed in number of third world countries. Managing the Administrative jobs in large public sector organization is one of the areas of my expertise. I also headed the Training Institute of our department; the Capacity Building is also another area of my specialization.

1. Had Bachelors Degree in Commerce from Calcutta University in the year 1978.
2. Passed Subordinate Accounts Service in IA&AD in 1987.
3. Cracked UPSC and became a member of IA&AS in 1995.

I am very much interested in cultural and sports activities. Once upon a time, I was an Announcer in All India Radio Kolkata. My hobbies- Reading Books, Travelling and Meeting people and building up friendship.
