Professional Experience: |
As State Technical Consultant The UNION South East Asia at Pune, Maharashtra under project Axshya I was responsible for following activities
* Provide technical assistance to state NTEP (National TB Elimination Program) in preparation, implementation and monitoring of state Project Implementation Plan (PIP) in the state and districts.
* Provide technical support in preparation of state level guidelines on Advocacy, Communications and Social mobilization and new partnership guidelines and share with the districts for the smooth implementation. Also sensitize state/district NTEP staff on respective guidelines.
* Coordinate with various stakeholders including NTEP, General Health system, partners, NGOs, civil society in planning and implementation of case finding activities with a focus on active case finding.
* Coordinate with State IEC department and support them in designing and developing IEC plan for social media, Mass media and creative IEC material for the state for NTEP program.
* Documentation of best practices/ Success stories of the district/state and support in preparation of annual booklet for the state.
* Coordinate with The UNIONs sub recipient partners, program management unit, State TB Officer, District TB officers and other relevant stakeholders in implementation of project Axshya activities in the respective districts. Ensure timely support from the Govt. for all UNIONs activities.
* Act as the spokesperson for The UNION, promote organization’s public profile and credibility and represent the organization in each and every endeavour at the state level.
Similarly with Population Services International, I have worked on many assignments as Senior Program Manager, State Program Manager, Communication Manager to Communication Training specialist for 19 years and was responsible for following activities
* Oversee the smooth implementation /operations across 8 states of India and represent the organization in various National and State level forums.
* Interact with State Program Managers for sharing best practices and lessons learnt for enhancing quality of overall project activities and ensure timely submission of eminence report to the donor.
* Execution of program with the support from State Govt. Departments, other stakeholders and partner organizations.
* Planning targets, schedules and journey cycles related to the project period
* Designing and developing mid-media/mass media campaigns, tools and models and conduct trainings of Communication Teams and monitored progress through formal observations and feedback as decided periodically
* Execution of state Media planning like- Mobile Van, Street plays and other Inter Personal Communication activities in the community.
* Tracking, monitoring and supervision of all ground level activities and submission of donors reports on time.
* Documentation of best practices along with monthly, quarterly, Yearly activities.
Few important projects include: Global fund supported project Axshya for Tuberculosis control, USAID supported Operation Light house and Connect Programs for the prevention of HIV/AIDS, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation supported Avahan program for the prevention of HIV/AIDS and Anonymous donor supported Women Health Program for medical abortion and family planning

I have done Executive MBA (Marketing Management) from Institute of Business and Retail Management, Mumbai in 2010 (Secured 1st division). I have also done B.Sc. (Electronics) from Shivaji College of Art, Commerce & Science, Akola (Affiliated to Amravati University, Amravati) in 1996. I have also Completed Management development program on Project Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation from Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur, Rajasthan (India) (4-9 Aug 2003). Similarly I have completed “The Foundation Course” on Leadership, Innovative Problem Solving and Strategic Project Designing and activity planning by Carol Squire – Principal Consultant (4-10 Dec 2016)

Affiliations and Achievements: |
* My efforts for best implementation of TB project under project Axshya in the state of Maharashtra and supporting Govt. NTEP (National TB elimination program) had been recognized by Joint Director TB, Maharashtra by felicitating my state team with a Medal of appreciation by Hon Health Minister, Maharashtra, Dr Deepak Sawant on 24th March 2014.
* I participated in the 45th World Lung and Health Conference 2014 at Barcelona, Spain and made a poster presentation on the topic “Can facilitation mechanism make a difference in case detection” TB analysis of Maharashtra.
* Four of my abstracts on TB had been accepted and presented in the World Lung and Health conferences in 2013, 2014 at Barcelona (Spain) and 2017 at México (US).
* One of my paper as co-author “Should sputum-negative presumptive TB patients be actively followed to identify missing cases in India?” was published by Public Health action in Dec’17.
* I was consistent performer throughout my carrier with an “Exceptional and Excellent” annual performance rating and received internal awards like “Pearl & Jewel” for best performance and innovation in various programs.
* I have prepared state level guidelines on Advocacy, Communications and Social mobilization and new partnership schemes guidelines in March 2019 for the State NTEP program, Maharashtra which are now operationalized in the state under NTEP program.
* In June 2020 in spite of COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra, successfully launched Latent TB infection pilot project for The UNION in three districts of Maharashtra state through Principal Secretory Health, Maharashtra, which is first ever pilot project in India and which has helped National NTEP program in designing and developing final National level guidelines for LTBI.
* Led the initiative for launching the Avahan program, connect program and NACO STI (HIV/AIDS prevention), Women’s Health Program (On family planning) and Project Axshya (TB control) in Maharashtra with stringent compliance to quality control measures (along with technical team).
* As state lead, demonstrated excellent liaising with Government Health departments, Government programs such as NTEP, NHM, SACS and external stakeholders such as partner NGOs and donor representatives.
* Proven Capacity of independently handling a large team of 208 members like Managers, officers and field forces include accounts, administration, Human Resources, Communication and sales and marketing.
* Developed creative & cost-effective IEC/IPC materials and reporting and monitoring formats under Project AXSHYA which was further adopted by the donor and partner organizations (SRs) which was implemented across 300 project districts in India.
* Developed creative & cost-effective IEC/IPC materials along with State IEC bureau, Maharashtra which is further adopted by the state NTEP program, which is now being implemented across all districts of Maharashtra.
