Professional Experience: |
Recentrly worked as a District Coordinator for the Community Management of Acute Malnourishment Program in Koraput District of Odisha followed by as a State nutrition Consultant for integrated management of SAM in Telangana state. Through these roles, I have experience working with the tribal population with cultural and nutritional diversities. I gained various insights of an Aspirational District and its unique challenges due to existing endemic diseases in addition to the various socio-economic and cultural aspects, the state-level experience had a multifaceted engagement. My experience in clinical dental practice involved interacting with patients, being sensitive to their needs & addressing patient grievances, also contributing to the clinic revenue generation goals with innovative ideas & execution. Heading the branch gave me the opportunity to manage the functioning of the clinic & also develop the junior dentists. While the corporate experience at Inventurus Knowledge Solutions exposed me to the US Healthcare system & in my role as Team Lead, the routine workflow groomed me to develop communication skills effectively by managing team, leadership skills by inspiring change & executing them involving time-sensitive decisions. My post-graduation course in Public Health specializing in Health Policy, Economics, and Finance at Tata Institute of Social
Sciences, Mumbai helped me to understand the development and analysis of health policies while focusing on the provider and beneficiary perspective. Learnings qualitative & quantitative research methodologies in my coursework gave me an understanding of ongoing development in the healthcare industry, critically evaluate public health programs or policies, develop analytical skills & be able to visualize data for decision-making. Through this, I understood the concept of health, which is determined by multiple factors, internal and external to the health system. The field practicums and internships gave me a primer on real-world work environment through interaction with the community & delve into socio-economic factors considered in the planning and formulation of policies. The organizational interaction helped me to understand the process, functioning,
and integration of different components of the health systems. My curiosity & passion has brought me on a journey to evolve from a dentist to a public health professional.
