Professional Experience: |
Currently, I work at a non-profit called Sobus Insight Forum which aims to support social startups and entrepreneurs across key development sectors such as Water, Sanitation, Agriculture, Clean Tech & Renewable Energy, Finance, Health, Education etc. As a part of a small team of 5 working in an early stage organization, my key responsibilites as an Impact Associate is to support the set-up of an end to end ecosystem to incubate and accelerate social entrepreneurs and startups. I've conducted key ecosystem research studies and published manuals, worked with experts and advisors to set up strategy for two new projects: ISME's Sobus CoE and SVERI's Sobus CoE, set-up key systems and processes within the organization to enable effective coordination and communication, managed mentor groups, explored CRM platforms, handled social media and branding activities, written proposals for funding among other things. In January 2021, with the launch of our first Centre of Excellence in an engineering college located in rural Maharashtra, I have been posted on ground and given responsibility of carrying out an extensive baseline survey involving various stakeholders, setting up an operational plan for the center, getting activities started, generating a pipeline of entrepreneurs and startups, communicating with various stakeholders on a timely manner, developing partnerships, keeping track of the project, raising funds and also managing social media activities.
Previously, I worked for an ed-tech startup as a content manager. Here I created content and based on 21st century skills and blooms taxanomy for school students across various boards. Along with this, I was also responsible for keeping track of content delivery based on various project needs and handled a team of 5 content creators.

An engineer turned social scientist. I finished my under graduation and earned a B.Tech degree in Biotechnology from VIT, Vellore. Here I gained engineering skills in subjects such as Environmental Biotechnology, Animal & Plant Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Genetics, Biostatistics, Bioethics etc. As a part of my academic work I was involved in various research projects and used various data tools such as excel to sort, organize and analyze inputs for these research. I also learnt how to write good literature reviews and formulate project reports. Some major projects include research in extracting bio-essentials from plants and testing for preservatives, a survey on the quality of mess food and tissue culturing for creating plant based meat products. I also spent a summer at Johns' Hopkins' University, Baltimore, USA learning 'Health Survey Research Methodologies' and went on to carry out an extensive health survey on Type-I Diabetes in a nearby village as a part of my final dissertation.
I also hold a Masters degree in 'Rural Development and Governance' from TISS hyderabad. Livelihoods, Project Management, Quantitative & Qualitiative Assessments, Ethics in Public Policy, Public Policy and Local Governance, Developmental Studies, Economics, Sociology, Politics, Social Entrepreneurship, Poverty Measurement and Social Research were some of the subjects included in the coursework. During this course I gained essential research skills and learnt how to use STATA and SPSS. The major projects I worked on here was related to assessing vulnerability of street vendors in the local area, writing project reports of my immersion in rural villages, attending and presenting at rural development seminars and a seminar paper on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
