Professional Experience:
I have previously worked with the Human Rights Law Centre at the University of Nottingham. I have also worked with social justice organisations across India, like Centre on the Death Penalty (Now Project 39A), Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, Partners for Law in development, People's Watch, Naya Sawera and Strategic Advocacy for Human Rights. I have also worked with legal professionals practicing in the Supreme Court and high courts.
My work has focused on thematic areas like gender, sexuality, education, criminal justice reform, right to information, death penalty and torture, among other thematic areas.
I have experience of research, advocacy, data collection and analysis, project management and implementation, case analysis, litigation assistance, outreach activities and community engagement.
Education:
I completed BA LLB (hons) from the National University of Study and Research in Law with specialisation in international law. I then completed LLM in human rights law from the University of Nottingham, in which I scored a distinction. I was awarded Developing Solutions Scholarship for the completion of my masters degree.
Affiliations and Achievements:
- Awarded Developing Solutions Scholarship, 2019.
- Co-founder of Initiative of Students for Books in NUSRL (ISBN), a student run book bank operating
in the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi.
- Volunteered for Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access, a non-profit organization which aims to
empower underprivileged children by giving them access to quality legal education.
- Invited to represent the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi in the 7th Anti Trafficking in Persons Conclave, organized by Shakti Vahini and American Consulate, Kolkata.
- Worked as a shop assistant at Oxfam Book and Music Store in Beeston, Nottingham.
- Qualified for Teach for India Fellowship, Young India Fellowship and J N Tata Endowment Loan
Scholarship in 2019.
- Co-authored ‘United Nations General Assembly Resolutions in the Formation of the Outer Space
Treaty of 1967’ which has been published in Astropolitics.
- Co-authored ‘Emergence of Jus Cogens Principles in Outer Space Law’, published in Astropolitics.
- Wrote a paper titled ‘Socio-economic Status of Rural Women in Jharkhand and their Contribution to
Rural Development’ which was published in South Asian Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies.
- Presented a paper titled ‘Communalism and Casteism in Elections’ at the National Seminar on
Electoral Reforms in India organised by Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.
- Published a paper titled ‘NJAC and Collegium System: Retrospect and Prospect’ in Lex Revolution.
