After working as a journalist for 14 years, I have recently expanded my scope of work to development communications and content. A major part of my work as a reporter was to cover issues related to health, development, internet cultures, gender, law and human rights. I am skilled at communicating complicated concepts powerfully and with clarity. |

I am a journalist who has branched out into content creation and communications consulting. My approach to designing communications strategies is rooted in my training as a digital journalist and combines engaging storytelling with sharp, impactful brand messaging. I am adept at conducting research and creating compelling content and communications plans. Having worked as a journalist in international newsrooms, I am also acutely aware of the politics of social media messaging and the need for businesses to use it in the most meaningful and responsible manner.
As a reporter, I have written extensively on health, urban and rural development, women, human rights, law and child safety.
At present, I am consulting with various international advocacy groups helping them craft audience engagement content and strategies targeting policy makers to social media influencers. I am also working with content marketing agencies that work with B2B and B2C companies.
I am based in New Delhi, India at the moment but open to relocating and taking on remote consulting opportunities.
I was the Features Editor at HuffPost India from 2015 to 2020, where I conceptualised and managed the content strategy for LIFE, HuffPost’s culture, lifestyle, trends and self-care vertical aimed at expanding the site’s audience.
HuffPost LIFE was designed as a brand-safe space, monetizable product that published compelling, empathetic and rigorously reported content on subjects such as social media, technology, mental health, women’s career and health, personal finance and the internet culture.
Prior to HuffPost, I worked at Firstpost — India’s first digital first news and content property. I was the deputy culture editor and was part of the team that laid the template for digitally-savvy, relatable SEO-driven news content in India. At Firstpost, I also created enterprise content that was meaningful and engaging and would boost footprints on the site from social media channels.
My experience as a journalist and media professional has given me a key sense of how to build value-driven online brands, make meaningful connections with users, and inspire change. Over the years, I have built a wide network of connections with journalists, writers, academics, analysts, development professionals, researchers across industries. I have also established professional relationships with government agencies and privately-owned grassroots development agencies and policy think tanks.
