Professional Experience:
*(ADO)
Started career as Agriculture Development Officer in the Department of Agriculture and worked in different capacities like–

-Worked as Incharge of Seed Multiplication Farm for cereal crops like maize, wheat, paddy, and legumes, as well as vegetable crops like cauliflower, capsicum, fenugreek, etc. for which pure seed production requires precise application of technologies.

-Worked on "watershed projects" which aims to control soil erosion and retain moisture in cultivable land. This helps farmers to produce better crops particularly in a rain-fed area where the problem of irrigation water is a major issue. In a particular watershed, area contour bunding, live fencing, crate works, loose boulder structures, and construction of rainwater harvesting structures are done to enable farmers to grow cash crops and other crops and enhance their income.

*(BDO)
During my tenure as Block Development Officer (2006-2015) in the Department of Rural Development worked on different projects and schemes like MGNREGA, Swatch Bharat Mission, Watershed Development Projects, National Rural Livelihood Mission, etc.

Under MGNREGA I have experience of implementing MGNREGA in different agro-climatic zones ranging from sub-tropical to temperate (Tribal District Kinnaur). Construction of rainwater harvesting structures, check dams, land development of individual farmer, construction/repair of village roads were taken as the major components of the work plan. All these aforementioned works have a significant impact to enhance the income of the village farmer and help the farmer to produce better crops with good transport facilities.

Swatch Bharat Mission (SBM) is the people-led project of the Rural Development Department in which construction of individual toilets, work of solid-liquid waste management in villages, and sanitation specifically for students and women was undertaken on priority. Besides these self-help groups, Mahila Mandals and Gram Panchayats were motivated to organize a special drive for village sanitation.
National Rural Livelihood Mission(NRLM) create self-help groups of women in villages and by the capacity building, they are motivated to produce some valuable post-harvest products like sauce, pickle, and shawl from local wool. In Himachal Pradesh traditional crafts like wood carving, bamboo products, Pahari painting, embroidery, etc are also conserved and promoted under this scheme as local youth and self-help groups of women are trained as well as provided market linkage.

Running above mentioned schemes efficiently requires handling large teams at the Block level, rapport building at field level with rural beneficiaries as well as Panchayati Raj Institutions, and assertive and efficient communication skills.

*(Deputy Director cum Project Officer)
Monitoring and management of the aforementioned schemes at the district level. Control and coordination between Blocks and Department, effective review, and monitoring with a proper compilation of data were the major tasks I performed in this post.
I worked in two Districts in this capacity-Kinnaur and Hamirpur.

Appropriate developmental activities like Kuhl (small canals), land development for orchard cultivation, community toilets for migrant labor of Horticulturists, community gathering buildings, etc were taken on priority considering Tribal culture and high altitude of Kinnaur District.
Hamirpur District lies mainly in Lower Himalayas and focuses work was on creating Rain Water Harvesting assets under Mgnrega, Liquid waste Management in villages by drain and soak pits construction under Swachch Bharat Mission and market linkage of Self-Help Group products by encouraging participation in local fairs as well as weekly markets.
