Professional Experience:
1) Symbiosis International Deemed University, Pune;11th July 2019 to 17th July 2020 Director Quality Management Systems & Benchmarking worked for 7 faculty, 43 HEI,15000 students.
Submitted application to UGC which recognized Symbiosis as Mentor with a fund of Rs. 30 Lakhs. Initiated Quality Lecture Series for faculty, staff, students in all institutes.
2) Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Vadodara; 11 July 2011 to 11 July 2019: held positions OSD (Q & O), Controller of Examinations & Registrar; conducted audits of all functions, identified gaps, guided depts. to fill up gaps with policies, SoPs in all functional units. Appointed Controller of Examinations to solve issues and streamline the department. I worked with the team, trained & instilled them with sense of discipline & confidentiality. I prepared comprehensive exam manual. Notified exams at beginning of year & were adhered too.
In April 2015, became Registrar. Apart from carrying out the tasks under UGC Regulations, was responsible for statutory compliance, QMS,prepare for NAAC, NABH & NABL. As Chairman of NAAC Core Committee, my team played key role in getting NAAC “A” Grade, further to this UGC conferred Catogory-1 university & 12 B status.
During my tenure, I had to resolve two major problems; 3 superspecialities were recognized & converted all PG diplomas to degree. successfully completed medical UG & PG admissions under DGHS-MCC. Started 10 paramedical courses.
3)Shri Renuka Sugar’s Institute for Rural Development & Research (IRDR), Belgaum, Karnataka- 15 April 2010 to 14 March 2011 Chief Executive Officer
I was able to operationalize three schools, 2 health centers & a clinical laboratory.
4)Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed to be University (PIMS) Loni, Ahmednagar;Additional Registrar (Q & O) & Project Officer European Union’s Erasmus Mundus Program; 27 Dec 2007 to 24 March 2010
I prepared Information Brochure, 3 Annual Reports, submitted application for partnership in European Unions’ EMECW India 15 program. PIMS became the only rural private university to be partner of the consortium of 5 Indian & 10 EU universities with a grant of Rs. 2 Crores. I successfully moved 22 applicants (faculty, staff & students) to European universities for masters/ doctoral/ post-doc programs. I prepared draft NAAC Self Study Report & established & registered Alumni Association.
5) KLE Society, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College & PBK Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Belgaum; Administrative Officer to Director: 1 Nov 2002 to 2 Nov 2007
I conducted number of NAAC awareness programs,established NAAC systems & reforms. Guided 53 degree colleges & JNMC for NAAC. 6 colleges got A Grade, 12 colleges B+ & rest got B grade. I was to head the project to establish Deemed University. My feasibility report & plan of action was approved. Though interesting, the task was complex. In 2006 UGC conferred the Deemed University status. I wrote Bye-Laws & Rules, established university sections & conducted two UG-PG admissions.Coordinated Malaysian Medical Council & Sri Lankan Medical Council inspections for reciprocal recognitions. I was asked to prepare & implement hospital-wide QA Program & make it ready for NABL & NABH.
6) Sept 1991 to October 2002 Tutor/ Asst. Lecturer in Department of Forensic Medicine: with J N Medical College (JNMC), Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Karad, MIMSRMC, Latur for varying period.

Apart from engaging lectures, practicals, invigilation & facing MCI inspections, I developed Forensic Medicine Museum, prepared practical journal. At KIMS, I was given charge of sports, Security, Inquiry & Rectorship of Hostel at varying periods. I conducted Clientele Satisfaction Survey at hospital OPD & introduced reforms to reduce waiting period of Sr. Citizens in OPD.
Education:
I wanted to be a Doctor since school days, but couldn’t be on merit. Due to my NCC achievements I got MBBS seat. I Passed MBBS 1991 from J N Medical College College Belgaum.
During my early jobs, I thought I must have deeper understanding of Laws in relation to Medical profession; so I pursued PG Dip in Medical Law & Ethics from National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
By this time I had almost decided to be effective administrator & did MBA in Health Systems from SMUDE, Manipal. Driven by my inherent trait of motivating & helping people to perform better, I wanted to study principles of counseling & did Masters in Psychotherapy & Counseling from IPMS Mumbai.

This apart, I have attended more than 20 CPDs covering ISO, E & HS, NABH, NABL & SPC etc.

1)While working in Forensic dept. I participated in a debate on Consumer Forum v/s Medical Negligence at Bangalore & received National 2nd Prize.
2)I have been a follower of Knowledge Economy (by Peter Drucker) & pursued its principles in my admin roles. I participated in National Conference on Emerging Trends in Professional Management Education in the Knowledge Economy in India organized by ISME & QCI at Bangalore & presented a paper titled ’Embarking Knowledge Economy: Professional Management Education in India versus Emerging Horizons’. I received ‘Best Paper Award’.
3)At JNMC, in recognition of work, Student Association conferred Best Officer Award on me.
