i am basically a Sociologist who aspires to make her contribution in the developmental process. Professional Experience: |
During my brief stint of working with various organisations, i have had a qualitative and exhaustive job profile. In HDI, i was the Project Manager and thus was part of the core team for project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and documentaion of the various projects. The scope of vork was varied viz R&R in Rengali Retrofit Project to alternative sources of livelihood in Bhitakanika(Kendrapara district) to GO-NGO interface , SHG's to R&R of trafficked women and CSW's in Mali Sahi (BBSR) and its subsequent cleaning and sanitation. It was an excellent learning curve which helped me in all my future endeavors.
It was followed by my involvement in a case study to evaluate the participation of SC-ST girls in Higher Education.
Then from Sept'2004, i was the District Extender, Puri District for the Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme(NID) for UNICEF. My job profile included co-ordination of the NID activities specifically in the areas of communication and social mobilsation, micro-planning, IEC supplies management, monitoring, evaluation and reporting(from the peripheri). i thoroughly enjoyed my job and the people with whom i worked with. If given an oppurtunity, i aspire to do it yet again.

i completed my schooling (till +2) from D.M.School, Bhubaneswar. In 1996 i joined R.D Women's college, Bhubaseswar to do my graduation with Sociology Honours and Political Science. Have been a student of Sociology since then. Got the oppurtunity to complete a dissertation as part of the curriculum titled -‘Poverty Alleviation Programmes: Role of NGO’s. the scope of the study was on grass-root sustainable development,GO-NGO interface and the effectiveness of SHG's (with women participation) in development process were explored. i also got the oppurtunity to assess the implementation of Poverty Alliviation Programmes by a premier NGO CYSD.In 1999 i joined Hyderbad Central University, Hyderabad to do my Master's in Sociology which i completed in 2001.Within the whole curriculum, my area of study/papers included Sociology of Development, Rural Sociology, Sociology of Gender, Communication, Health , Sickness n Healing, Population and Society etc.That summarises my formal education. later i also completed two certificate courses from IGNOU viz Disaster Management and HIV and Family Education in 2008.
