I, Archit Tripathi, completed Master in Public Policy (Year 2020) from St. Xavier's college Mumbai (Mumbai University) followed by B.A. (Hons) in Public Policy (Year 2018) from Lucknow University.
I am Seeking career in any Social Development Sector of reputed organization with an assignment of any function of Social Development Research Organization/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Sector/Public Policy Think tank/Education for socio-economic growth of self and society.
Currently, I am working with NGO (Educate Girl) Since January 2021 and focusing on mobilizing communities for girl’s education in India’s rural and educationally backward areas. I also achieved Post Graduate certificate for my course on Public Policy and Advocacy (5th October 2020 to 9th Jan-2021) from National Centre for Advocacy Studies (NCAS-PUNE).
I joined the course of public policy out of my sheer interest. This made me even more aware of the importance of policymaking all over the world. During my undergraduate, I worked as an intern in Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta which is an anti-corruption ombudsman which along with the income tax department and anti-corruption bureau mainly helps people publicize corruption among the politicians and government officials. During the internship, I visited various state government organizations like 1090(women’s helpline), DIAL 100, RTI Office, ADARSH Jail, et cetera and got aware of their working closely.
I also worked on the topic “STARTUP INDIA” for my Fieldwork during me under graduation. My reason for selecting this topic was India today stands at the position of population explosion where we have the most youth in the world but not enough jobs to satiate their needs. This scheme of govt of India emphasized on encouraging entrepreneurship for the purpose of job creation within India.
As I was about to get over with my undergrad degree I was more enthusiastic towards understanding deeper problems of the society and that's what made me pursue a Master's degree for Public Policy.
During the course I came across many challenges on how to deal with problems on ground level starting from identifying street-level bureaucrats I have done research work for my policy memo in the field of drug abuse caused by marijuana, In the field of environment I have prepared a policy memo on economic incentives for environment protection where I have researched about the revenue from the environmentally related taxes in India, Me and my team members have also done survey and researched on a NGO working towards women empowerment in Mumbai and have also done a survey for taking an insight of the working of ESI Hospitals in Mumbai. Along with national issues, I also came across issues in international economics in which I studied the balance of payment issues in the African country Gabon.
During my Masters period, I engaged with two major internships one with the Aditya Birla Group Grasim Industry in which I explored activities of Corporate Social Responsibility and the other one with the Ummeed Ngo in which I worked on one of this major emerging issues of "Fee Hike" in Private schools for this I worked closely with Parent Association in Uttar Pradesh.
I have also volunteered in the 7th National Convention on the Right to Food and Work held in Raipur.
For completion of my master's degree I have submitted my thesis "Historical context of education in India and idea of common schooling".
