Professional Experience: |
I am a development professional with almost years of experience in the development sector in fields like participatory governance, rights, programme strategy development, implementation and monitoring with both government, non-government organizations and UN agency across different states in India.
I have worked in diverse geographical locations with highly different socio cultural, political and economic situations like Andaman Islands, High Altitude Himalayas, Madhya Pradesh and presently Maharashtra. I have worked closely with the community and the government and non-government organizations, working as a bridge between both to influence policy decisions. The major area of focus was on ensuring positive outcomes for women, children and marginalized community through access to rights, livelihoods, health, education and improving their participation in governance. Designing programmes modules and reviewing and making mid-course changes as per midline evaluations were also one of the primary tasks. Working as a Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellow, I got an opportunity to work closely with the district administration assisting the District Collector in research and analysis for planning, monitoring and documentation of development programmes, preparing social audit plans, participatory planning schedules.
Currently in my stint as consultant for Rural Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, I have the opportunity to work closely with the state government and influence policy decisions through evidence based advocacy to improve decentralized planning and governance, equitable development of women and children, participation of women and children in governance. I am also responsible for designing programmatic interventions, partnerships and monitoring those for timely and quality outputs.
