Professional Experience:

I have been Managing Research programmes for over the last 20 years both the basic and applied research at various levels in the field of Biodiversity, ecology and human development. My research career started as a part of my thesis at Masters and followed until now. Over these years of research career, I have conducted independent research and lead teams for conducting multi location research. My bachelors and masters degree in agriculture and later doctoral degree in ecology blends has led me to work on both the sectors with each and most importantly the work on the inter-phase of ecology, Environmental Health and human development. It is an excellent opportunity for me to use my expertise to address the concerns of ecosystem health, water and the impending impact of climate change in Indian situation.

I have conceptualized, planned, resourced and implemented research programmes programme officer (Environment) at UN organization. It was imperative that I worked closely with Government of India, State Governments and Non Governmental Organizations. Over the last 5 years I have managed over USD 25 million and over 20 people in various projects. In UN the key focus has been alleviating poverty and conserving environment with community participation. More importantly, I have published a special issue on Natural Resource management and micro-finance that addresses many issues of using micro finance as a means to conserve natural habitats and improve livelihoods. I worked closely with the tribal community on improving livelihoods in the forested region.
