Professional Experience:
With twelve years of experience in the development sector I am adept in skills on process documentation, management of information systems, qualitative research, monitoring and evaluation and facilitation. I have worked in projects encompassing Gender issue, Land Rights, Women’s Rights, Adolescent Girls’ empowerment, Anti-Trafficking project, women’s disability rights and reproductive rights.

My last employment was with Landesa where I worked in the capacity of Program Manager - Research managing the research components of two projects focusing broadly on qualitative research-developing research plan, data collection plan, analysing the qualitative data, training of enumerators on survey instruments, developing case stories, Most Significant Change Stories and process documentation, engagement in recruitment of M&E staff and providing supportive supervision / training to field level M&E staff. This profile also engaged me in developing concept notes, strategy paper, research papers, work protocols, research guidelines, information pieces and communication needs assessment and video documentation projects. So, I can think my experience aligns with the qualifications and skills you are seeking for this position.

In addition to my experience I have a sound educational background having done my Masters in Sociology from Presidency College, University of Calcutta and have completed Masters of Population Studies (MPS) from Department of Extra Mural Studies & Distance Education, International Institute of Population Sciences, IIPS, Mumbai in May 2018. Í am currently pursuing an online course on ‘Facilitating Gender Transformative Evaluations’ from the ‘Institute of Social Studies Trust’, New Delhi supported by Ford Foundation, Delhi (certificate awaiting)

• Attended the 1st Annual Conference of the Sociological Association of West Bengal on “Social Change in Contemporary West Bengal” held at Centre for Social Sciences and Humanities, The University of Calcutta, Alipore Campus on 22nd September 2007.

• Attended the 3rd Annual Conference of the Sociological Association of West Bengal on “West Bengal Today: Profiles in Sociology” held in the Department of Sociology, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous) on 12th December 2009.

Affiliation with the American Center (U.S Consulate)-

• Attended a one-day seminar “Gender Equity in Primary Education in West Bengal and Bangladesh: Educational Opportunities, Achievement Outcomes and School Completion Rates” held at American Center on 18th February 2010 organised by United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF).

• Participated in a presentation and interactive discussion on “Domestic Violence and its impact on Children’s mental health – Strategies and ways of addressing it” by Dr. Karen Singleton (Director of Columbia University’s Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Program) held at The Academy of Fine Arts on 5th December 2009 organised by SWAYAM and the U.S Consulate.
