Professional Experience:
I started my career with JP Morgan in Singapore after completing my MBA from IIM, Bangalore. My tenure with JP Morgan gave me exposure to various Investment Banking Operations involving both project management and line functions. The project management roles provided me with an opportunity to work with several teams across different continents and develop skills of coordination, negotiations, effective communication and stakeholder management. The line roles honed my problem-solving skills and taught me to work efficiently under extremely tight deadlines and constant pressure. As Manager of the Asia Pacific Fixed Income Sales Support team, I had the mandate to establish a centralised team from scratch and put in place the processes to provide services across six locations in Asia, each with distinct client expectations. This was both a challenging and an extremely rewarding process as we saw the clients’ apprehension disappear to be replaced by growing confidence in services provided by our team. My work at JP Morgan was recognised several times through the “Star Service” award, an internal recognition system that required colleagues to nominate other colleagues whose service they would like to highlight.

In my role as a renewable energy financing specialist I gained knowledge about several renewable energy technologies especially for solar. My responsibilities included programme and fund management, financial due diligence for RE projects, capacity building for financial institutions for RE financing and financial modelling.

I started my own company in Puducherry in partnership with a like minded colleague. The venture was to promote heritage tourism and hospitality in South India with the involvement of local communities. Our company also took over the management of a small property owned by a foundation to run a restaurant and hotel. As an entrepreneur, I gained the skill of multi-tasking and being responsible for diverse aspects such as recruitment, advertising, sales growth, operations management, budgeting and financing. My role as an entrepreneur taught me to focus on finding solutions and not get weighed down by the problem. The partnership was dissolved due to difference of opinion on company policies.

In my position with GIZ, I gathered experience in International Development Assistance and honed my skills on Programme Management. I had to work closely with MSME bankers, MSMEs and industry associations to increase provision and uptake of sustainable financing. This role required me to show initiative to design the interventions and activities in the overall framework of the programme. I have developed strong connect with several associations and banks which has helped me design appropriate activities and take the work forward. I also took the initiative to manage the monitoring and evaluation activities which allowed me to have a holistic view of the whole programme rather than focus on just my sphere of work. I had underta
