Professional Experience:
I am Divya Sharma, a development Professional with a post-graduation in Rural Management from Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi. I have a working experience of more than 4 years. I have worked as a Young Professional (YP) under Skill Development at Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), Government of Odisha, as a Project Coordinator (Intern) at a start-up NGO – Back to Village (B2V) and as an Aspirational District Fellow (ADF) with NITI Aayog and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.

In the Khunti district of Jharkhand as an Aspirational District Fellow (ADF) with MHA and NITI Aayog, I received a plethora of opportunities to showcase my skill and knowledge as all my assignments interfaced with development, Health, Human Rights, Women & Child Development and Education (specially girls’ education). There was an abundance of learning involved in my tenure of one year. I got the fortuity to work with a District Commissioner, who is an IAS officer from the batch of 2014, while also getting the freedom to lead at numerous occasions. I played a key role in the ideation of many programmes and campaigns in the district. Along with my responsibilities in the district, I also handled the tasks and fulfilled the KPIs of NITI Aayog.

As a Project Coordinator at Back to Village I got the opportunity to put my management skills in motion. My role was to monitor the overall functioning of the project from capacity building of the stakeholders to management of the field coordinators and target beneficiaries. Similarly, in my time as a Young Professional at ORMAS, I worked in the Skill Development vertical under the flagship programme of Government of India, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojna (DDU-GKY). Through the thematic areas of Mobilization and Migration Support Centre, I got the opportunity to assimilate an abundance of knowledge by way of monitoring and supervising the overall mobilization process in the 30 districts of Odisha and establishment and M&E of the first Migration Support Centers by ORMAS. This was all in close coordination with the central, district and block level administration along with NGOs and policy makers.

Furthermore, I have always had an inclination towards the development sector which led me to my post-graduation in Rural Management. It also led me to a scholarship by Human Rights for Development (HR4DEV) in Ghent, Belgium. The scholarship programme was on Critical Interdisciplinary Course on Children’s Rights (CICCR) where I got the opportunity to learn from the participating delegates, activists, judges and theorists from across the globe on matters that are pertinent to a developing country like India.

My choice of functional thematic areas has always been in tandem with my zeal for community development. I am confident that I will put into practice a blend of both, my experience and my passion in a positive manner. I truly believe that my past experience and educational background would make me a valuable asset for your organization. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to work with a dynamic and diversified team that works to improve citizen well-being and how I can contribute to that effort.
