Professional Experience:
I always wanted to connect with people and share their stories. I chose my vehicle to make that connect pretty early in life – that of a newspaper journalist. In my 25-year stint in mainstream print media including The Telegraph, The Statesman, Business Standard and The Asian Age, I consistently broke most of the biggest stories in the domains of real estate, retail and infrastructure in Kolkata and East India, besides tracking game-changing trends in these areas. I take special interest in architecture and urban design/urban planning, public health and new research in medicine, music and the arts, hospitality, lifestyle, and sports. I schooled at South Point High School and graduated with honours in English Literature from Jadavpur University. I bring to the table cutting-edge communication skills, a wide and eclectic network of critical resources across diverse stakeholder groups and my perennial enthusiasm to chip in for the team.
Post-media, I have worked as Chief Coordinator, Infinity Knowledge Ventures Pvt Ltd, creating communications and business development content across all the verticals of the KPO. I was also a Senior Advisor to Anant Education Initiative, a merit scholarship programme for needy and meritorious students to help them pursue higher education. I created communication content for the programme, mentored scholarship students and used my networking to stitch together soft skills workshops and various kinds of vocational training courses for the Anant students to try and make them job-ready.
Before THALI Kolkata, I was functioning as a Freelance Content Consultant in the domains of communication and business development, helping corporate entities articulate their business plan better by creating for them succinct and effective marketing and media content, besides helping them with networking and internal communication. My clients included Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, India Power Corporation Ltd, PS Group, Hiland Group and Design Cell, among others.
