Professional Experience:

I have over 7 years of professional experience in the corporate and not for profit sector. At present, as a Consultant with Tomorrow’s foundation, in a project for learning for life (United Kingdom), I am undertaking Primary and Secondary Research to identify suitable approach & strategies for systematic removal of child labour in leather factories of Tangra (Kolkata) and to ensure the sustainable social rehabilitation of the children. Also, most recently at Tomorrow’s Foundation, in a project for UNICEF Chhattisgarh, I determined the deficit in learning achievement levels of children studying in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (350 children) and Porta Cabins (2300 children) of South Bastar, estimating the training needed before mainstreaming them into age-appropriate grades.

Furthermore, in September 2012, at Tomorrow’s Foundation in a project for Aid Foundation BHARATI (Netherlands), I determined the extent of inter & intra-state seasonal migration of families from Jharkhand, resulting in out-of-school children & child labour; the research paper with findings (based on survey of 9000 children) has been submitted to the state government, resulting in identification of areas where seasonal hostels need to be established.

Besides my projects (at HEC Paris; described in the Education field above) in the Not for Profit sector, in 2008, he worked in the Resource Management Team of Prayas Institute of Juvenile Justice, raising funds and implementing Account Management processes that helped augment contribution from corporate sector. Also in 2008, I helped establish All India Prakash Society, an NGO focused on Women and Child rights in India.

I have 5 years (approx) of experience in Sales with expertise in B2B Sales, Account Management, Relationship Management, & Business Retention; I have hand-on skills in problem solving, creating opportunities, building & nurturing relationships, & closing big-ticket sales. For Example, as a Sales Manager at Timesjobs.com, I have met and surpassed revenue targets by more than 200%, developing new business segments by coordinating with cross-functional teams. As a Business Retention Team lead at Timesjobs.com, I developed Communication & Account Management strategies that led to 300% increase in the value of business from existing accounts.

In my free time, as a GMAT Verbal Trainer, in 2009 at Jamboree Education Private Limited, I coached aspiring MBAs in improving their verbal skills; I also do so online via the use of Social media (www.facebook.com/GMATTakers - 1400 ‘LIKES’/Followers till date)

My client facing experience, interpersonal skills and leadership skills align with an organization’s requirement of the role. My zeal to walk the extra mile will enable me to preserve and further enhance the relationship between an organization and its clients.

Education:

In June 2011, I graduated as a MBA from HEC Paris (Global Top 20 Business School: http://goo.gl/WlCBd); I specialized in Business Strategy and Marketing and had secured a score of 710/800 (Top 8% Globally) on GMAT. In addition, in June 2003, I had completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from ICFAI Hyderabad in 2003; I specialized in Marketing & Finance and was awarded Merit Scholarship with All India Rank of 49. Finally, in June 2010, I graduated as Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Delhi University

While at HEC Paris, I had undertaken several Market Research projects in the development and Energy sectors; for example, in 2010, in a 5 month project with Atlas Service Corps, USA (an organization in the Not for Profit sector of USA), I developed the market entry strategies for Atlas Corps’ entry into the Indian market. Also, in 2009, in a Pro-bono consulting project of 4 months duration for UNESCO Paris, we developed resource mobilization strategies from Greetings Cards & Personal Stationary segments of Indian market. Finally, most recently in a project of 8 months duration (with Schneider Electric, Paris) that concluded in December 2011, I recommended Business Development Strategies for adopting Demand Side Management solutions/Clean Energy Solutions vs. Flexible Generation/CO2 emitting solutions.

In the field of Communications, while at HEC Paris, I worked on several projects that helped me learn some of the Global best practices in Web 2.0 Marketing; for example, for example, most recently (Dec 2010 – Apr 2011), in a project with Associate Professor – Marketing at HEC Paris, I conducted surveys & interviews with Crisis Managers of large MNCs across industries to determine the efficiency & role of the Social Media in managing crises. Also, in a project (Oct-Dec 2009) for fetchdog.com, USA, I proposed e-marketing strategies and implemented Monte-Carlos lead generation model, resulting in increased Web Traffic and forecasting quantum marketing effort needed to increase the conversion rate. Finally, I worked with HEC Paris Communications team to develop the layout and content of HEC Paris MBA Blog (http://www.mba.hec.edu/mbablog/).

The team-based pedagogic approach at HEC Paris, with peers from more than 55 countries gave me an in-depth insight into the process of working in multicultural and cross-functional teams.

Affiliations and Achievements:

As a HEC Paris MBA and a Net Impact Club member, I have always had a keen interest in Not For Profit sector, Sustainable Business Development, Social Entrepreneurship, and Clean Energy. I was a part of the organizing team for HEC-Net Impact Social & Sustainable Business Conference in May 2010; I organized Panel Discussion on ‘Sustainability – Developed vs. Developing Economies’, a subject that is linear to my career goals. Also, I ran and completed the Paris Full-Marathon in April 2011 for Atlas Service Corps, USA and for the cause of Not for Profits in India.

I have cross-functional understanding and experience of working within a global milieu, I had the opportunity to learn from the practical experiences of diverse group leaders in the non-profit sector and social entrepreneurs, and build an international network. The skills acquired and best practices learnt are not based on a perspective that is limited to any particular geography.
