Professional Experience:
Prior to joining NRMC, I chose to work in a remote area in Uttarakhand and later in Rajasthan with a national NGO, Foundation for Ecological Security, where I directly worked with rural communities at the grassroots level and successfully managed implementation teams at block, district and regional levels in different roles and projects over the period of 10 years. My work during these years was primarily on Natural Resource Management, linked livelihoods, local governance and gender equity. My quest for learning and linking my experience till then with the theoretical perspectives prompted me to undertake an Mphil at Cambridge University. I cherish my experience at Cambridge which provided me with a larger perspective and deeper understanding of the policy processes and interface of research and policy/ programme processes. After finishing my Mphil course, I returned to India and joined a fledgling organization working on development sector consulting and project management. At NRMC, I have led and been part of multitude of projects supporting various development actors in designing, implementing, monitoring, learning and evaluating their programmes in thematic areas of NRM, Gender, Local Governance, Climate Change, Livelihoods, Child Rights and Health. Some of these projects have been long term (4-5 years) and many short term (2 months to a year). I have managed large teams of people across geographies to deliver quality and timely outputs to the client. As a result of these, and excellent client interface, I have been able to continue partnership with many client organizations.
