Professional Experience: |
I have worked as a psychologist in the psycho-social team of UNHCR-BOSCO. I was involved in psychological assessment of refugees from various countries. In this capacity, I maintained a good relationship with government department especially with the Women and Child Development Ministry for the child protection. I effectively conducted number of Best Interested Assessment (BIA) for the refugee children as per the international standards of UNHCR as part of the durable solutions for the refugee children.
During the term, I have also developed an experience of conducting individual and group sessions. Being a psychologist, it was my primary role to identify the participants need and provide them psycho-social counselling and therapy. I coordinated with psychiatrists from VIMHANS for the follow up of mental health of participants. I gained an experience of working in an environment with people of different backgrounds, races and nationalities. In the case of emergency, I gained an insight while collaborated with UNHCR staffs, community representatives and psychiatrists for participant’s mental health follow up. With the help of other team members, I conducted workshop with participants to make them aware about psycho-social issues regarding mental health.
