Professional Experience: |
In a career spanning over 10 years , I had the opportunity to work for the capacity building of various stakeholders starting from SHGs for handicraft cluster development, under privileged youth for their skill development in vocational training and lately state functionaries of DDU-GKY project. This exposure has prepared me well to appreciate different training needs and prepare the desired training methodology.
I started off with Slum dwellers specially Children for a Project called Strengthening Children’s Education. The thrust was to create conducive environment for children in poor settlements and ensuring continuity of scholars. But while acknowledging the significance of education for a child, a healthy child became an issue of vital concern for us and we realized that health awareness is an integral part of child education. Hence it was further broaden to Health education and counseling for adolescent girl, Curative treatment including referral, HIV awareness, Sanitation etc.
While working with a State Funded Organization SIDAC as a Junior Project Coordinator (State Institute for Development of Arts & Crafts) I had the opportunity to work with budding Young Entrepreneurs/Artisans, young girls/women who were aspiring to set their own CRAFT centers.
As a consultant with Concern world wide, SAMBANDH and Care India , I had the opportunity and exposure of working with various stakeholders in the health sector , especially maternal child health care. The projects were addressing issues of malnutrition in children, adolescent health , pre natal and postnatal care etc. As a monitoring and evaluation professional, the experience with these agencies was particularly helpful in honing my monitoring and evaluation skill.
Lately in Placement Skill development, where I have been serving for more than 5 years now with different institutions and in different capacities, I have had the opportunity to understand the need of the youth that aspires for a white collar jobs, and the difficulties they encounter in retention. As the State Head of one project implementing agency under DDU-GKY , I had to scope to design customized training module for the youth that were to be trained in various domains , apart from technical domain requirement the training content constituted life skill education, basic IT knowledge and communicative english training. At NABCONS , the central Technical Support Agency of GoI for DDU-GKY, I have also been spearheading various training and capacity building programs for project partners and state functionaries . These capacity building interventions are designed to address the operational, monitoring needs of these functionaries.
