ADEQ is the regulatory body for permits, environmental laws, etc. for the state of Arizona. The semester long internship included creating fact sheet/resource summaries and other communication materials for industries in Arizona, to help them with pollution prevention in their facilities. A detailed study of existing practices at mines, factories, dairy processing units, etc. was performed and the facts were compiled. The US EPA’s (Environmental Protection Agency) Food Recovery program was also initiated in several school cafeterias and restaurants.
