Commander in Chief of Western Command (2.5 lakh approx),the strongest command. As Army Commander, succesfuly managed national level crisis & counter terrorist response mechanisms. Member of apex boards & decision making bodies-AWHO, AGIF, AWES, ECHS; entailing vast responsibilities & financial charter. Acted as catalyst for five national level professional institutions-AIMT,ACMS,AIL,ANC & AITI to achieve national level rankings. Managed welfare establishments like PRC, Schools, Skill building institutes and set up the first Senior Veterans Home. Managed health care and other welfare establishments spread over five states & two UTs. As Corps Commander of Operational Corps having borders with four countries, steered capability building, international crisis & insurgency in remote areas. Commanded Armoured Division & first T-90 Brigade. Lead role in capability building & formulation of 12th Defence Plan as also Long Term Perspective Plan. Pivotal role in perspective planning, policy formulation & operational implementation. Team Commander & Chief Operations Officer in UN Peace Keeping Mission in Angola granted three extensions on UN request & cited for bravery. Highly effective CEO in strike & operational formations. Awarded PVSM (highest award for distinguished serviice), AVSM and Bar to AVSM by President & citations by Army Chief, Army Commander & UN Force Commander. Represented Army in Parliamentary Standing Committees & National level Task forces. Participated in Defence diplomacy, border talks & visited more than twenty countries as part of defence delegations.

Diploma - Labour & Administrative Laws, PG Diploma Computer Applications & Diploma in IT. Certificate course in Human Rights.
