Surveillance Medical Officer- WHO. (May 2010 Onward)

1) Managed the field unit office as the administrative and financial in charge (one of the high focus districts in view of Polio Eradication).

2) Conducted acute flaccid paralysis surveillance in close coordination with government and private medical practitioners. (District with one of the highest AFP rates in the entire country)

3) Gave technical inputs in preparation and updating of micro plans for polio and routine immunization and implementation of the programs. (Up to date Polio and routine immunization plans in spite of large number of vacancies in government PHCs and CHCs)

4) Advocacy as regards to routine and supplementary immunization activities in the district. (District with one of the best supplementary immunization indicators and catching up on routine immunization)

5) Monitored immunization activities in accordance with guidelines & procedures provided by NPSP & Govt. of India. Interpreted and analysed the data for action. (Identification of weak blocks and corrective action through intervention of District Magistrate, Chief Development officer and Chief Medical officer)

6) Trained trainers as well as field level workers for supplementary immunization for polio and routine immunization. (85-90% attendance over a period of one year with visible improvement in outcome indicators)

7) Conducted extensive field work with daily travelling of up to 100 kms and more during supplementary immunization activities for thorough supportive monitoring of on field activities including cold chain, vaccine distribution, vaccine delivery & vaccination team activities.
