Key Responsibilities and Initiatives at the India Arm of SABMiller PLC, now ABInBev
• 2008-till date: Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Communications • 2006-2008: Head, Corporate Communications and CSR
Key Role: Driving SABMiller-led efforts towards multi-stakeholder action to address water risk - Creation of multi-institutional partnerships; stakeholder and regulator outreach - Successful, scalable pilots across India recognised by the stakeholders as best practices - Showcasing and leveraging measurable outcomes to build company reputation - Advocating for collective action around water at national and global platforms, like the Stockholm World Water Week - Advisory role at various other platforms attempting collective action in the area of energy, skill development and climate smart initiatives
Other Work Highlights • Set up the sustainability function for the company in India • Part of the global sustainable development team. Participated in developing the SABMiller sustainable development ambition theme named Prosper. • Part of the global water team. Developed and set up the India water risk management programme. • Won the best global water programme award and best sustainable development programme award within the SABMiller group, both reviewed by external stakeholders.
• Leading the company’s water risk management initiatives in Rajasthan, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Maharashtra, Karnataka.
• Leading the external and internal communications strategy to build and enhance company reputation - Spokesperson for India sustainability initiatives on media and non-media, national and global platforms. - Identification, development and oversight of execution of media and non-media thought leadership initiatives.
• Leading engagement with stakeholders. Identifying and building national and international partnerships and stakeholder networks.
• Planning and development of communications content for media interface and engagement with other stakeholders.
• Local community initiatives around the breweries.
• Developed the India responsible alcohol programme.

Key Responsibilities and Initiatives at IPAN Hill & Knowlton, Leading PR and Communications firm, as Director Client Servicing (August 2000 to August 2006)
• Led client teams in beverage, FMCG, lifestyle, automotive, insurance sectors for external communication and media relations • Led some of the most challenging public affairs and advocacy campaigns at the agency that resulted in increased public exposure and improved perception of the concept / product amongst stakeholders.
