Professional Experience:
I am a development professional with 20 years of sectoral experience working on communication, resource mobilisation, advocacy, communication design and implementation.

As part of the management group of a national social enterprise working on culture & livelihoods for eighteen years, my core function was resource mobilization. My role was to come up with strategic directional plans, gathering sectoral and donor intelligence, trend analysis, database maintenance, project planning, proposal writing and pitching, identifying donors, partners and collaborators for resource mobilization, sharing and leveraging. My role involved donor engagement, partnership building and management, developing tools and mechanisms for the same. The role’s responsibilities included designing and marketing fund raising events. I have led and managed communication for development projects on a range of development issues across India. I have also been instrumental in the organisation’s international and national advocacy for culture as an employable skill.

As the SPOC for resource mobilization, I maintained active database, kept myself updated with the sectoral trends and priorities and identify possible donors, partners and collaborators. I supported the branding and visibility of the organization served and represented them in various events, workshops, seminars and festivals and helped identifying possible donors, partners and collaborators. Providing strategic directional inputs was part of my responsibility. I designed tools and mechanisms for donor and engagement and management. I supervised and monitored donor supported projects for quality assurance, kept the donors updated, prepared periodic reports and coordinated their field exposure.

As a communication lead, I led and managed development communication projects across India on a range of development issues involving project and programme design, communication strategy development, marketing & promotion plans and designing campaigns, events, communication tools and participatory trainings. It also involved running the organization website and social and digital media platforms, developing strategies, content plan and audience engagement for the same. As part of the management group, knowledge management was also my responsibility requiring development of orientation plans, modules, tools and mechanisms for the same.

I have worked with the ministries of Culture, Tourism, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Consumer Affairs, Environment & Forest, Home Affairs, External Affairs, MSME, Women & Child Development, Social Welfare, Health & Family Welfare, NACO, state governments of West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, UNESCO, UNAIDS, UN Women, UNODC, UNFPA, UNDP and UNICEF, USAID, European Union, U.S. State Department, DFID, BMGF, PSI, Ipas Development Foundation, BBC Media Action, Coal India Ltd., ONGC, Petronet LNG Limited, NALCO, HCL, the various embassies, international cultural centres and national cultural & development agencies.
I am a Masters in Literature from Presidency College and University of Calcutta. I studied Hindi Literature during my Bachelors and Masters degree along with English and Political Science.
