As a fresh graduate in the field of Public Health all the experience I have gained is during the course of training in my chosen field.
My experiences are varied encompassing both the preventive and curative aspect of health and disease.
As a part of MBBS training, I have been exposed to various aspect of disease right from the stage of diagnosis, recognising the severity, instituting the appropriate treatment, follow up of the patient and prevention of complication. Also this has given me a perspective on the disease status of the community and the value of practicing preventive health for the betterment of the community at large.
This led me to pursue Masters in Public Health at Manipal University where the training in public health is robust and is geared towards applicability in future work that I would undertake.
In the course of training in public heath with a focus on epidemiology, extensive field postings were organised which helped in gaining perspective on the ground realities of the heath issues of the community at large and the challenges in the implementation of national health programmes at the grassroot level.
As a part of the training received in public health, I have also undertaken various short term research projects which involved identifying a research area, formation of the proposal and protocol of the study, its implementation and application of the results of the study at the community level.
I am also proficient in the use of health information systems, SPSS and Microsoft office which is of immense advantage during research activities.
I have imbibed management skills and have found the ability to work as a part of a team and contribute to the effective fulfillment of program goals when working as a part of the organisation committee of various events and conferences held at the university.
In the course of the various symposia attended, I have also received training in proposal writing which would be of pertinent use in future research that I would undertake.

I began my graduate studies in MBBS at M.S Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru between 2005 and 2011. During the course of my study and training it became apparent that a large proportion of the patients being treated had preventable diseases. I discovered that I had passion for prevention of disease along with treatment and cure. As a result I decided to pursue post graduate studies in the field of public health choosing Masters of Public Health at Manipal University, Manipal between 2014 and 2016. In the masters programme, epidemiology was the focus of my education and research.
