I have been working in the social sector since 2012. 4 years in the for-profit health sector and 3 years in the not-for-profit education sector. Currently, my role is primarily fund-raising. Though it was a very fulfilling experience as I got an opportunity to serve the under-privileged communities, my desire is to be part of the NGO programme, to be directly involved in its operations. |

Professional Experience: |
In 2012, at the age of 42 years; I found my life’s calling...to help people in distress...I took the first step in this direction by giving a helping hand to people in overcoming their setbacks which seem insurmountable and thus help them to help themselves. I trained to become a counsellor and worked at the Counselling & Suicide Prevention Centre in Mumbai. I worked here for 4 years. This was a for-profit organization, however, I wanted to help the disadvantaged, the economically backward, people who did not have the resources or the opportunities. I was open to expand my role and help people in areas like healthcare, education, nutrition, skill development.
In 2016, I joined Muktangan, a not-for-profit organization, which ran 7 municipal schools and a teacher training centre in Mumbai; this organization provided free primary & secondary education and gave opportunities to under-privileged women to be trained to become teachers in the schools.
At Muktangan, my role was primarily fund-raising. Though it was a very fulfilling experience as I got an opportunity to serve the under-privileged communities, my desire is to be part of the NGO programme, to be directly involved in its operations, to work at the ground-level to enhance its productivity. I sincerely believe I can greatly contribute to the activities of the programme given my natural empathy and work-life experience.
