Professional Experience: |
I work nationally in India & intermittently in the US and Bangladesh. I started my career as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the US and then continued as a social sector researcher focusing on Education, Gender, Public Health, Water and Sanitation and Child protection, first with the Women's studies Department of University of Calcutta and consequently with National Custom Research agencies like ORG and Synovate. Before I took to independent Consulting my last designation as an Employee was Senior Research Director.
Between 2000-present I have worked primarily as Education Quality, Training and Research Consultant (both independently and as part of a team), Technical Advisor (Education, Public Health, Capacity building) as well as Management Faculty (Adjunct and Full time HOD), Head of Academic Delivery of a network of 12 K-12 CBSE schools in Eastern India (Usha Martin), Founder Director of a global online Talent Acquisition platform (www.mindspecs.com) and creator and managing trustee of www.musiana.org a music preservation and music for education platform.
I work/collaborate extensively with Consulting firms, Corporates, Academic and Government organizations, NGOS, Start-ups and International Development Organisations both independently and as part of a team of experts.
My expertise in Education includes policy research, program planning and private, public and NGO-led strategy implementation, capacity building, networking support, team management and setting up quality monitoring and evaluation frameworks for academic delivery in the formal K-12 and non-formal sectors. Skills include developing child friendly schools and education programs, school community partnerships, instructional design and curriculum development, teacher education (K-12 and College) and leadership development, organizational assessment, children and youth’s creative skill building, non-formal teaching (Pre-Primary to Middle), formal teaching (Management Education) and academic and children’s literature writing (including Primary level language text books) and formal and informal school/learning center-based library activity development.
