Operational Project
Handling the generation and dissemination of Potential Fishing Zones(PFZ) information to Indian fishermen community.
Generation of PFZ involves
1) processing of satellite images viz. sea surface temperature, chlorophyll and water clarity products retrieved from various satellites.
2) Analysis of satellite imagery to quantify and rate potential fishing zone lcoations.
3) Creating user friendly smart maps and converting them into multilingual text are performed on daily basis.

The PFZ project have achieved an accuracy of 75-80% and almost 1 lakh fishermen are benefitted economically by using this information as validated by partner NGOs.

Research and Development
•GIS analysis techniques like Frequency density and proximity analysis of PFZ fronts with respect to distance, depth and slope spatially and temporally for Indian Ocean and prepared an Atlas "An Atlas on Potential Fishing Zones of Indian EEZ” for the last 10 years data.

•Site suitability analysis of Mariculture cages using influencing environmental parameters retrieved from satellite images and multi criteria analysis in GIS. An atlas of potential sites of Mariculture for entire India coast was prepared and also involved in setting up a forecast model weekly/monthly of marine cages for fish culture.

•Understanding the influence of environmental parameters on the distribution pattern/behavior of major fishes like Sardines, Hilsa and Tuna in Indian Ocean. Working on Soft computing models like fuzzy and ANN to set up a species specific forecast using R language.

•Assisted in the Study of the influence of altimeter Sea surface Height(SSH) data and released a technical report “Utility of Sea Surface Height anomaly (SSHa) in determination of Potential Fishing Zones”

•Involved in development of a Standalone GIS desktop application using open source GIS repositories.

•Helping development team in designing and building the structure of SQL database for storing the fish catch data and in situ measurements of biophysical parameters of ocean.

•Involved in advancement and fully automation of PFZ advisories in ArcGIS using python scripts and models.
Education:
I completed my Masters from The Energy and Resources and Institute(TERI), India in Geoinformatics (2012)
During Masters, I had successfully completed various projects. In association with senior principle scientist Dr. A K Saran at National institute Of Oceanography (NIO), I studied applications of wavelet transformation for Cloud Removal using Fusion Scheme and Textural Analysis for Coastal Sediment Identification. Completed a 5 months research project under Dr Bakim C Oinam, in which I worked on feature extraction from high resolution satellite image using fuzzy logic in MATLAB.
In my major Master Thesis I worked on an operational national project with the blend of research and development into it under
Dr.Vinod Bothale at Maharashtra Remote Sensing Application Center, which gave me good exposure in photogrammetry as well as processing and working with high resolution data sets. In this project, a water resources development plan was proposed for watershed WG-8 Bhandara, Maharashtra. The action plan for rural development at 1:10k scale is drawn. For this high resolution mapping and generation of resources themes on 1:10K scale, high resolution images are produced by fusing CARTOSAT-1 PAN and multispectral LISS-IV multispectral imagery. Eight different fusion techniques with their qualitative and quantitative assessment are proposed. Also ground water quality for Amravati division is analyzed using water quality indices for pre and post monsoon.
I completed the courses Basic Remote Sensing, Advanced Remote Sensing (Microwave RS, Hyper SpectralRS, and Thermal RS), concepts of GIS, Advanced Spatial Modeling, programming languages like python, MATLAB, Minitab, ARC GIS, ERDAS & ENVI.
I am looking for a suitable position in Developmental sector where I can use my skills effectively to identify and propose solutions to ecological issues or Urban environment issues, EIA related studies using Remote Sensing and GIS techniques.
