1. June 2015 till date
Senior Fellow and Head of Research, People Research on India’s Consumer Economy (PRICE). PRICE is an independent not-for-profit research ‘fact-tank’ engaged in building and disseminating seminal knowledge and rare insights about India’s Consumer Economy and Citizen’s Environment. Sandeep and his team has already run two syndicated national level incomes, expenditure and savings survey using grants from industry bodies.
Freelance Consultant and Advisor Sandeep is also a freelance consultant working on contractual assignments by development sector institutions (INGOs) as well as leading consultancies.
2. January 2014 to May 2015
Head of Research, BBC Media Action India As Head of Research, was responsible for servicing all research needs for BBC Media Action programs in India. This includes formative and diagnostic research for new initiatives, as well as generating evidence around impact using mixed method research protocols.
Have led a research team of five, and was also an integral part of the Executive Committee of BBC MA
During tenure at BBC, created what is possibly the world’s first attributable evidence around impact of a mHealth project which has been implemented to scale which was presented in the Global mHealth Conference at University College of London.
3. August 2008 to December 2013
Vice President/Senior Vice President, TNS India Private Limited Joined TNS (India) with the mandate to revive TNS’s social research business in India, through fresh recruitment and training, aggressive client servicing with the few existing clientele, and expanding the client base to cover sectors beyond health research. By the time of departure after a 5 year stint, the Political and Social research unit had become an independent profit centre with and had one of the highest per person productivity among all SBUs in the India operations.
4. 2005 November to 2008 July
Executive Director, Invest India Market Solutions Designed and delivered India’s largest privately funded syndicated pan India Household Incomes and Savings Survey covering 100,000 personal interviews with earners across all states of India.
Developed and serviced an exclusive client base including the leading Scheduled Commercial Banks, the entire life insurance industry, all the major AMCs, leading NBFCs and payment solution providers), financial sector regulators and the central bank.
5. February 1994 – October 2005
Senior Research Executive/Associate Director, AC Nielsen ORG-MARG (P) Ltd.
