Professional Experience: |
Dr. Satish Chandra is a former Indian Government Public Servant. He has worked as a staff member with UNDP Afghanistan, USAID, and Multilateral Supported Programmes on governance, policy, budget, institutional development, audit, M&E, and treasury and investment management functions – all within different settings of public administration in India, the USA, and Afghanistan.
He has earned his Ph.D. in 2011 from Department of Management Studies, IIT, Delhi, India – in “the Financial Modelling of Microfinance for Social Inclusion and Sustainable Employment Generation in Urban Space.”
He has gained formal training on corporate tax, including the direct and indirect tax system, and worked on strategic issues in emerging practices of tax administration, including the treasury management and social security investment planning for 10 million USD per annum.
He has more than 30 years of international development experience, living and working in Afghanistan, and has worked in a range of public service areas for different public, not-for-profit, and corporate sectors and led the team on a companywide ERP Project for a 50 billion USD organization. This included managing the development of restructuring a business plan, the oversight and audit management for over 50 state-owned enterprises, and there have been numerous high-level responsibilities that have honed his integrated public service competencies.
Dr. Chandra has performed and achieved satisfactory results in multiple areas of public management, including in oversight, monitoring and audit management. This has enabled him to continue to hone his competencies and allows him to contribute effectively towards the reform and agenda setting that are in line with the sustainable development goals.
