Professional Experience:
The Association of People with Disability (APD) is involved in comprehensive rehabilitation of economically marginalized People with Disabilities since 1959

Highlights:

Deputy Director - Institution Education, Since 2010

• Responsible for managing overall operations for Institution education and livelihood programme of APD with a team of 75 staff along with eight coordinators
• Managing a budget of 3.25 cores with the accountabilities of planning, conducting & reviewing of all aspects of institutional education and training programmes
• Accountable for project formulation & processing of new project/ research proposals and implementing the same at grass roots and promoting dignity, respect, integrity, value and equality
• Initiating the turnaround efforts to manage plans and direct the extensive aspects of training activities, including needs assessments, course development, session delivery, and evaluation of training results
• Responsible for preparing background documentation for all meetings also organising regular district level and state level review meetings on the status of child education
• Managed a successfull international exchange programme with Scottish schools which has grown in to a many fold friends of APD programme.
• Directing, managing, supporting & motivating all Programme Managers and Co-ordinators for effective and efficient conduct of all programmes, ensuring bottleneck free operations
• Networking with stakeholders including government authorities and developing strategic and operational plans, annual plan and budget plan
• Implementing standardized timelines, orientation and learning & developmental activities required for acquisition of core competencies and maintenance of knowledge and skills
• Monitoring and verifying the programs’ progress and impact, understanding the challenges and needs of stakeholders and find the appropriate solutions
• Developing innovative programmes to ensure continual improvement of all institution education and training programme complying with and ensuring appropriateness for all categories of disabilities
• Liaising with the other education setups, training centres, NGOs, professionals, corporate, employers for overall growth of the programme
• Instrumentally lobbying / carrying out advocacy work with Government and other related groups to ensure right to education and right to livelihood of children as well as young people with disability

Affiliations and Achievements:
I wasthe chairperson of Child protection committee of APD. This includes ensuring the policy is implemented across the organisation in line with UNCRC. Review progress every term and conduct child task committee meeting once every month.
I also chair the VISAKA committee the committee for prevention of sexual harassment of women in work places.
