Professional Experience:
I recently completed a job tenure with SHIKSHA Initiative under the aegis of Shiv Nadar Foundation in the capacity of Project Associate. In terms of adaptability and the deliverables, my previous experience has given me an edge and factored in my enthusiasm to pursue a career in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability services.
I also ascribe the genesis of my aspirations to certain esteemed clients as well, with whom I was privileged to interact during my engagement with hospitality sector. These interactions steered me to the aspects of CSR and Sustainability.
My earlier experience in the hospitality industry has generously endowed me with client-relation skills and taught me the value of both customers and team-performance for business sustenance and growth.
Education:
Master's degree in Sustainable Development Practice from the TERI University, New Delhi.has been an interesting mix of classroom sessions, project based evaluations, group practicum outside New Delhi, a summer internship and a major project. A few, inter alia, were the major project during the 4th Semester, wherein I authored a Master’s dissertation titled “Inter-regional electricity trade - A beneficial mechanism to propagate a sustainable low carbon growth path for select SASEC member nation”; utilized both primary sources in the form of expert consultations and secondary sources obtained through the review of literature. During the summer break interned with the Public Health Foundation of India, Gurgaon, wrote a report titled “Social Exclusion in multi-cultural, pluralistic settings – a review” based on secondary data.Further, A need based assessment conducted in the district of Ganjam, Odisha, under the guidance of CARE India, Bhubaneswar for 15 days put the importance of behavioural change communication to the fore. It further tested my capacity to work in the absence of the benefit of knowing the local language.? During the third semester I was one of those few fortunate to have attended a course, among others, called Sustainability Reporting and CSR. It gave me insights into the various aspects of sustainability reporting Viz. the concept of sustainability indicators; indicator development; various sustainability related management standards and indices as well as various aspects of corporate social responsibility.
