Professional Experience: |
I have spent 28 years and 10 months working in the development sector. I have worked extensively in 12 states of India and abroad, and am experienced in managing/supervising complex multi-state, multi-stakeholder projects on a wide range of issues, viz., Urban health (family planning), education, health, nutrition, MDR TB, household food security, WATSAN, livelihoods, new born survival, emergencies, child rights, child protection and trafficking, gender mainstreaming being a cross cutting theme in all recent projects. I was also one of the three Co-Chairs of CARE International Gender Network (2014-15).
I possess a rich experience of working with 5 international non-governmental organizations of repute, implementing programmes, in partnership with local NGO partners and the government.
Until recently, I was a member of CARE India’s Senior Leadership Team. In my capacity as the Regional Program Director-UP Hub, I provided management oversight and supervision support to CARE India’s project interventions in the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Punjab, Uttarakhand.
Work profile includes operations at key strategic level on Program management, Financial management, liaison with key stakeholders (International & national donors – both from Institutional & Corporate sector) and Research & Advocacy related aspects at State and National level.
Headed key strategic positions at International, National and State level. This includes position in China, COO at India Country level, Zonal Head and State Head. Thereby, I got an opportunity to manage high value programs, large and diverse teams as well as diverse partners including corporates, consortium partners, complex donors and donor relationships.
Contributed to developing country and state strategic plans, programs for multi-sector; multi states comprising of large budgets.
People management: I am experienced in building, leading, motivating and managing dynamic and effective teams, which include responsibility to recruit, orient, supervise, coach and mentor direct reports, ensuring they are accountable for their areas of operation, coordinate staff development/talent management and organizational succession plans as appropriate. The minimum staff that I have managed range between 0 & 45.
Programme development, operations and quality: Throughout my career, I have worked with the respective program experts to design, build and implement specific as well as multi-sector projects (including identification of programming opportunities) in line with strategic program framework (SPF) and operationalized SPF elements through Annual Operating Plans (AoP), detailed implementation plan (DIP) and their periodic review; through field visits and established review mechanisms, monitor/supervise implementation of projects.
