Professional Experience:
At present, pursuing PhD in School of International Studies on “South-South Cooperation for improved global environment governance” at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. Prior to my Phd, I was working as Assistant Director and Regional Coordinator for Africa in CUTS International,an international policy research think tank. My principal responsibility was to coordinate different programs and administrative issues of our 3 offices (Accra, Ghana Lusaka, Zambia and Nairobi, Kenya) and overall operations in Africa. My job also enlists conceptualisation and development of program and policies, planning and review ME development of concept notes and project proposals and contribute to the research on various sustainable development related subjects.
I am also representing my organisation in different SDG related programs with Government of India and other national organisation. I am part of Steering Committee and Technical Committee for the promotion of Ecomark, India's only national ecolabelling under the aegis of MoEFCC. I am representing my organisation in International Solar Alliance, Advisory Group. I am also part of Sustainable Mobility Advisory Group, under the platform of Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation. As part of my job on advocacy, I have written several articles/opeds in national dailies.
Prior to joining CUTS, I was working in Saciwaters as Associate Fellow. Over there, I was leading 2 projects related to Water Security, Informal Water Market and Sustainable Groundwater Resource Management:Water Security in metropolitan Hyderabad and Shifting Grounds.
From 2010 to 2013, I worked in the French Embassy as Deputy Head of Energy and Telecom. In Embassy I did a lot of research on energy and environment; prepare notes on both English and French language. I needed to assist French companies interested to invest in Indian market. One part of my job was also to facilitate ministerial visits by arranging relevant documents, organising meetings for them, translating various notes etc.
I started my career in CUTS International where I worked as an assistant program officer on a competition Policy and Law project in 7 West African countries namely: Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Mali, Senegal, Nigeria and Togo and for my job, I have been to these countries several times.
Being a proficient French expert, my job included translating technical documents from English to French and vice versa.
In the framework of my study internship at ONF International, I worked for a WWF project in Democratic Republic of Congo. In DRC I conducted a socioeconomic analysis of agents of deforestation, factors that are influencing deforestation in and around Luki Biosphere Reserve. The result of my study is a quantitative description of present social structure and economic practices influencing deforestation.
Education:
Pursuing PhD at the moment.
Master 2 (M.Phil)in Environmental Economics at CERDI, University of Auvergne 1, France, titled “Sustainable Development in developing and emerging countries”.
Dissertation: Role of women in household energy transition-A case study of India.
Econometrics project: The link between carbon gain and deforestation.
Masters in Economics and Management of Tourism.
Affiliations and Achievements:
I have won Gold medal for French Certificate Course, awarded by West Bengal Government. Apart from teaching French at all the levels (A1, A2, B1, Children, corporate training)in Alliance Francaise de Kolkata, I also worked as a certified translator. I worked as an interpreter in several meetings and conferences. I also worked as a guide for several delegates. Finally, I was heading a French Reading Club, under the tutelage of Alliance Francaise and participated in the organization of several cultural events. I did my M.Phil with 100% scholarship under Charpack scholarship.
