Professional Experience:
I am an economist with 11 years of experience in consultancy, research and impact assessment in India and the United Kingdom. With a keen interest in sustainable development, I have designed programmes and evaluated large-scale education projects across India. In the United Kingdom, I advised government and the private sector on a variety of public policy issues and conducted market analysis across various sectors with a focus on energy, renewables and climate change.

Through my professional experience, I have engaged with senior professionals in government, regulators, industry, multilateral organisations and NGOs. At a grassroots level, I have worked with teachers, students, parents, local government representatives and the wider rural community.

I am looking for opportunities to apply my experience and skills to programme design, management, evaluation, research and policy advocacy in the social sector. My areas of interest and expertise span a variety of themes including education, energy and climate change, as well as the heritage sector.

I will bring to these new opportunities my substantial skills and sectoral expertise. In the education sector, my experience ranges from quality improvement programmes for early childhood education in Anganwadis to those for senior secondary schools. These have covered a variety of themes including school quality improvement programmes, activity-based learning, inquiry-oriented education, technology-aided learning, digital literacy, English language communication, teacher training, sanitation, road safety and prevention of substance abuse.

In the energy sector, my experience spans themes such as renewable subsidy design, emissions trading, cost-benefit analysis of low carbon technologies, electricity demand forecasting and modelling long-term electricity market scenarios.

With respect to my technical skills, these begin at the project inception stage with conducting needs assessments, designing and piloting programmes, and writing proposals.

I have been leading the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of CSR projects designed and implemented by IL&FS Education, one of India’s largest social infrastructure firms. As part of this role, I have:
• Planned the M&E methodologies
• Designed and implemented tools for data collection such as written surveys, focus group discussions, observational tools and learner assessments
• Trained and guided project teams in robust data collection
• Analysed qualitative and quantitative data from projects to draw insights and provide recommendations for project course corrections
• Written reports for internal use and for project sponsors

There has been substantial variety to my professional experience. For example, I have:
• Worked closely with pedagogic experts to support the design of teaching-learning materials
• Worked with teams in organising and implementing events such as project launches, thought-leadership workshops and training sessions
