Compassionate and experienced Social Worker and Educator with over 10 years of progressive experience in mental health, youth counseling and mediation, disaster response, community development and education. Holds dual Master’s degrees in Social Work (Medical & Psychiatric) and Disaster Management.
Working as an academician/teacher I taught Social and Environmental Education and developed curriculum based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals for students in Grades 6–9, to promote social awareness. Designed and implemented the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Service as Action plan, fostering student engagement in community service. Built partnerships with local NGOs and organizations to support student-led projects addressing real-world social and environmental issues. Collaborated with interdisciplinary faculty to embed service learning into core academic subjects.In my role as a mediator and counsellor I provided behavioral and mental health counseling to residential students through individual and group sessions. Worked collaboratively with the Dean of Students and School Counselor to develop support plans addressing adjustment and emotional concerns. Conducted conflict mediation and facilitated peer relationship building, focusing on adolescent well-beingWorking in the NGO sector as a project facilitator, I have Supervised over 15 social development projects across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia, providing mentorship to project managers delivering child and family support services. Designed training modules for psychosocial care, community mobilization, and volunteer management across South and Southeast Asia. Conducted regular field visits and assessments to ensure project adherence to social work principles and child protection guidelines, along with monitoring and supervising project functioning. Supported the setup and implementation of health and education programs in underserved and disaster-affected regions.
I am in the final semester of my M.Sc. in Disaster Management from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Prior to this I have completed my Masters in Medical and Psychiatric Social work form the Madurai Kamaraj University in 2007 and my Bachelors in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology in 2005. During these educative years, have been ingrained with the core areas that are emerging in these vital fields and have been helped to develop myself to be able to suitably work in areas that require the expertise that I have and I hope to apply these skills and knowledge in the most appropriate manner through the career opportunities that are provided to me.

Have undergone various field placements and intern-ships in organizations working in various fields which have provided me ample knowledge as to the functioning and working nature of the different organizations.
